Materialities of Sumitomo Shoji Machinex

To contribute to the realization of a sustainable society, we formed an “SDGs Task Force,” selecting members from within the company, to identify the high-priority challenges (materialities) we need to address through our business.
These materialities, which are based on the Sumitomo Business Spirit, the Sumitomo Corporation Group’s Management Principles, and Sumitomo Shoji Machinex’s 2030 Vision, define areas and issues that need to be addressed in order to “solve environmental and social issues” and simultaneously “achieve growth for the company,” and to enable a virtuous cycle between these two objectives.

Through access to technology and the promotion of partnerships that leverage the company’s practical know-how, we strive to reduce environmental impacts and realize a better environment and society for many generations to come.

Co-creating new value

We generate innovation through co-creation initiatives by working alongside all stakeholders (the natural environment, society, and companies) to tackle genuine challenges and create value to promote regional revitalization and shape a more prosperous society.

Achieving well-being through diverse human resources

We promote excitement and vitality within the company by making use of diversity and the individuality and human power of people in various positions. On top of this, we nurture human resources capable of generating innovation and increasing the well-being of stakeholders through our business.

Integrity management practices

Respecting the human rights of every individual and making compliance our highest priority, the company is striving to build a foundation for management to facilitate sustainable growth with virtue, integrity, and sincerity.
